Important Notice:
Effective August 2026, we will be reducing our working days from 4 days to 3 days per week, in line with reduced footfall and client demands .
From August 2026 the credit union office will be open only on Monday, Thursday and Friday - 10.00am to 12.00 noon for 3 days per week .
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause the members .

Saturday Opening of Colchester Credit Union
Please note that due to greatly reduced member footfall and the lack of available volunteers, we have decided not to open on any Saturday mornings with immediate effect .

August Bank Holiday 2026
The office will be closed on Monday 31st August, for the August Bank Holiday .
Christmas Holiday 2026
The office close at 12.00 noon on Thursday 24th December and reopen again on Thursday 31st December 2026 at 10.00 am
AGM for 2026 - Weds 8th July 2026
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Weds 8th July at our Colchester office - 7pm start .
As numbers allowed to attend are likely to be limited , members will still be able to attend the meeting via Zoom .
If you would to like to attend the meeting in person or via Zoom, please respond to the AGM invitation and we will send you joining instructions link via email .
This is also a call for more board members - to strengthen our Board and to replace outgoing board members .

Colchester Credit Union Ltd, formed in 2002, is a Savings and Loans Co-operative open to anyone over the age of 18 years who lives, works or studies in the Borough of Colchester or District
of Tendring. This is known as our Common Bond. There is a Young Savers Club for young people under 18 years. Details can be obtained on request.
Credit Unions offer a safe and easily accessible home for your savings and the opportunity to obtain a loan on ethical terms at reasonable rates.
Savings can be of any amount up to a maximum of £15,000.00 and at a frequency to suit the saver’s circumstances. Normally loans may be granted after a short period of saving but small emergency loans can be considered outside this policy depending on circumstances.
We also offer Free Life Insurance (for Adult Savers) on your savings and/or loan account:
- No direct cost
- Peace of mind for your next of kin
- Savings are insured at 100% from 18 up until the age of 64
- From 65 to 79 savings are insured at 25%
- Any loan you have will also be insured (T&Cs apply)

10.00 am to 12.00 noon - every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Closed on every Wednesday and Saturday, and on all Bank Holidays

Manningtree - The Hub, 1 The Lane, Manningtree, CO11 1AW - open on Friday morning - 01206 398082. From 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
We also have collection at a number of schools throughout the area.
Our Aims and Objectives
To offer the advantages of credit union membership as widely as possible among the resident and working community in the Borough of Colchester and District of Tendring.
To contribute to the regeneration of our Common Bond area, by promoting good money management, increasing the level of local saving and extending credit facilities at reasonable rates.
To maximise the potential of Colchester Credit Union Ltd by actively encouraging access to credit union services for all members of the local commumity.
